1. INTRODUCTION
Adrenaline activities
including Extreme and Adventure sports have become a growing
interest and phenomenon amongst the young trendsetters between the
ages of 18 and 35 in the A and B income group. With more TV
coverage being dedicated to these activities worldwide,
sponsorships are becoming more lucrative. SA Bungee has recently
secured sole rights for the most exciting free-fall ride ever.
SCAD diving was introduced to South Africa for the very first time
during a press launch at the 2000 Rand Easter Show.
2. PROPOSAL
This proposal is in
respect of a sponsorship for SCAD, (suspended catch air device),
the most recent outdoor adventure ride.
S.A. Bungee a young and energetic company, established in 1990,
introduced SCAD to the South African market during a press launch
at the 2000 Rand Easter Show.
We make outdoor adventure sports more accessible to the general
public and have numerous permanent and mobile venues throughout
the country, professionally trained crew, Department of Manpower's
approval and an excellent track record.
SCAD will be launched at the following venues:
Rand Easter Show:
SCAD will be the main attraction at the Adventure Canter, a large,
well-situated area that will also include the first ever standup
Bungee Rocket.
Permanent venue:
After the Rand Show, SCAD will be presented at the Randburg
Waterfront from a 60m high Tower Crane over the lake.
Mobile venues:
SCAD diving can take place anywhere. Our mobile unit will travel
to various music festivals, sports events, exhibitions, fairs,
agricultural shows, promotions and corporate events countywide.

4. SPONSOR PROMOTIONAL AND
MARKETING OPPORTUNITIES
S.A. Bungee rides offer
effective and functional branding space as well as a communication
point for product information, sampling, sales and consumer
surveys. Our main objective is to maximize the sponsor's
promotional and marketing opportunities. A list of possibilities
is listed below:-
Jump platform:
A well-branded 60-meter high jump tower or mobile crane will be a
perfect eye-catcher.
SCAD net and free fall harness:
All eyes will be on the participant as he free falls into the 10m
x 10m catch net. Branding on air tubes around the net, as well as
the free fall harness, will ensure visibility to participants and
spectators alike.
Fencing:
There is Approximately 200 meters of fencing that can be used for
special advertising messages.
Crew Crewmembers:
Will wear specifically designed gear with the sponsor's logo.
Sampling and sales point:
The sponsor can promote and sell his product from a kiosk on site.
SCAD paraphernalia:
SCAD T- Shirts, caps, videos etc., sold from the S.A. Bungee
ticket sales kiosk and can include the sponsor's logo.
5. EVENT EXPOSURE
5.1 RAND EASTER SHOW
The Rand Easter Show is
the biggest and consistently the most successful consumer
exhibition, livestock and entertainment festival held in South
Africa on an annual basis. In 1999 the Show attracted well over
half-a-million visitors over a twelve-day period. Anticipated
media / publicity It is impossible to guarantee the exact amount
of exposure a sponsor will receive, but we have a very good
indication judging from previous years.
Both Bungee jumping and Bungee Rocket made the 8 O'clock news,
various lifestyle and entertainment programs, front page Sunday
Times as well as many other newspaper and Magazine write-ups.
Television:
M-Net, SABC1, SABC2, SABC3, and ETV Radio: 5FM, 702, Metro,
Highveld Stereo, Jacaranda and Afrikaans Stereo.
Print:
The Star, Beeld, The Sowetan, Pretoria News and Citizen.
5.2 RANDBURG WATERFRONT
The Randburg Waterfront
is still one of the most popular entertainment centers in Gauteng
attracting well over 500 000 shoppers monthly. S.A. Bungee has
signed a 5 year lease agreement with Ampros for the erection of a
permanent 60 meter jump Tower at the Randburg Waterfront. This
multi purpose Tower will offer SCAD diving as well as Bungee
jumping and will be visible to motorists travelling on both Hans
Strydom and Republic, the two main roads surrounding the Randburg
Waterfront.
Media
We will form part of the Randburg Waterfront's advertising
campaign through Television, Radio and printed media. Proposed
Events Adrenaline Rush from 22nd July - 30th July involving ETV
and 5FM.
Past events
Included the M-NET birthday bash and the South African Breweries
Centenary celebration.
5.3 MOBILE VENUES
Leisure parks, shows and
festivals throughout the county make use of Outdoor Adventure
sports and rides to attract extra visitors to their venue. A
well-branded mobile unit will attract a great deal of attention
while travelling, ensuring added exposure.
Media
The media is always on the look out for new material and high
profile activities such as SCAD diving inevitably receive a large
amount of publicity.

6. BENEFITS
An exciting new

7. SCAD DIVING
SCAD diving is a new and
unique thrill ride. It is the only system in the world that allows
unattached controlled free fall. The customer gets to the release
level at 150 feet. The participants put on an easy-to-dress free
fall harness. A crewmember activates a decent system and releases
the diver after a count down. The very long free fall is
completely without attachments. The customer will drop into the
suspended catch air device (SCAD). The airtubes and break
suspensions around the double SCAD net, stop the fall very softly.
The customer feels no impact at all and the free fall experience
is therefore very intense. After landing the entire SCAD device
will be lowered to the ground, the customer can exit by himself
and enjoy the incredible feeling of personal achievement that will
surely last a lifetime. SAFETY All divers connect to the CFF
Controlled Free Fall System. CFF guarantees a secure free fall
position for a comfortable landing. The participant is limited in
his movements and can not change his position, even at deliberate
attempt. Due to the CFF System SCAD is completely safe for
untrained persons. There are no special requirements for
participation. The G-force ranges between 2,5 and 4. SCAD Diving
is approved by the TUV or German Technical Control board and
complies with all CE norms
